Project Description

Consciously, with Tegan is an educational and empowering podcast created for curious women and feminine-identifying listeners who are passionate about science, sustainability, and personal growth. The show breaks down complex topics with ease and warmth, creating a space where listeners can learn, expand their thinking, and make more conscious choices in their everyday lives. The goal of the rebrand was to express the unique intersection of girlhood, science, and sustainability through a visual identity that feels elegant, thoughtful, and naturally inspired.

 

Challenge

The brand needed to communicate a blend of sophistication, femininity, and intellectual curiosity without falling into clichés or looking like every other sustainability-focused brand. As an emerging podcast, Consciously had to capture an audience of open-minded, eco-aware listeners who seek knowledge but also want to feel connected, inspired, and understood. The challenge was to design a visual identity that could speak to this audience with authenticity and grace, while still standing out within the crowded podcast landscape. The identity needed to balance the scientific with the poetic — grounded in truth, but uplifting in tone.

 
 

Approach

My approach focused on tuning into Tegan’s personality and the emotional experience of listening to the podcast. Consciously carries a sense of softness and femininity, but it is equally rooted in intellectual depth and curiosity. To mirror this, I explored visual elements that combine organic textures with refined typography, illustrating the harmony between nature and knowledge. The design direction leaned into shapes and motifs inspired by scientific diagrams, botanical forms, and gentle editorial cues that signal clarity and quality. The brand voice was crafted to feel inviting, grounded, and empowering — speaking to listeners not as students but as equals on a shared journey toward awareness.

 
 
 

Solution

 

The final identity is feminine, elegant, and intellectually warm. The typography strikes a balance between softness and structure, while subtle graphical references to scientific illustration underscore the show’s educational core. The colour palette incorporates natural tones and soft gradients that evoke calmness, clarity, and an eco-conscious spirit. Visual motifs were developed to symbolise growth, inquiry, and natural beauty, giving the brand a sense of depth without overwhelming its simplicity. The resulting system feels fresh, graceful, and modern, providing a cohesive visual language for episode artwork, social content, and community-building materials.

 
 

The New brand Identity now feels aligned with its mission: to educate, uplift, and encourage people to live more consciously — all while celebrating feminine intelligence and the joy of learning.
