Project Description
Antipodes Design Studio (turned Con Alma Studios) is a sustainability-driven fashion design studio supporting eco-conscious and independent fashion brands. The studio specialises in guiding emerging designers through the development of responsible, ethical, and distinctive fashion collections. Their service offering fills a critical gap in the industry by helping brands minimise environmental impact while still achieving commercial clarity and strong creative direction. The rebrand needed to reflect this balance — a studio rooted in technical expertise, ethics, and collaboration, but also expressive, fun, and creatively bold.
Challenge
Antipodes required a brand identity that communicated both its professionalism and its playful, collaborative personality. As a newcomer in the sustainable fashion space, the studio needed to stand out to bold, sustainability-focused female entrepreneurs who value creativity, ethical responsibility, and innovation. The challenge was to create an identity that felt accessible rather than exclusive, while still projecting confidence and expertise. The brand had to show clients that designing responsibly does not limit creativity, and that sustainable solutions can be both strategic and beautifully expressive.
Approach
My approach centred on understanding the unique personality behind Antipodes — imaginative, warm, technically skilled, and passionately committed to sustainability. The visual direction aimed to capture this duality: the structured, detail-oriented side of technical fashion design, and the energetic, collaborative side of working closely with clients to bring their visions to life. I explored how colour, typography, and graphic expression could embody fun without falling into chaos, and professionalism without feeling rigid. The brand voice was developed to feel encouraging and empowering, speaking directly to the kind of woman who wants to build something meaningful while honouring the planet.

Solution
The resulting identity is playful yet polished — a visual system that balances creativity with clarity. The colour palette is bright and expressive, reflecting the energy and optimism of sustainable fashion, while the typography introduces refinement and structure. Graphic elements take inspiration from movement, pattern-making, and the tactile nature of garment construction. Together, these components create an identity that feels engaging and imaginative without compromising professionalism. The brand expression invites collaboration, celebrates experimentation, and positions Antipodes as both a creative partner and a technical expert for sustainable fashion entrepreneurs.
